  2. The wish list works for us. Most of the time. Okay, sometimes. I will try the spell next time! LOL!

    1. JD, thank you for stopping by! It’s good to hear I’m not the only one with a little less than 100% success rate on the wish list. :-)

YOU are brilliant. I’m just soaking up the mommy wisdom for the moment when my two kids realize that the toy aisle at target is not a destination: the toys are FOR SALE and you can bring them home. They still don’t know.

    1. Kelly, ohmygoodness. Now THAT is a stroke of brilliance on your part! I wish I could go back in time and start out that way! My downfall was buying her something small one time – a pack of stickers, I think.

This was a cute post. Thank you for sharing it. With four small kids, I understand how many times we have to say “no” at the store. *sigh* Maybe I should tell them about the store’s magic and how we need to rise above it! Great idea.

  5. My kids don’t usually get anything from the store (at least not when they are with me), so this hasn’t been a problem for us so far. But, I’m keeping this magic trick under my belt for when/if the time comes. Thanks for sharing!

  6. This is a wonderful idea. I’ve read a few more of your articles and look forward to seeing if they work. Love your humor! lol

  7. I don’t know how old this post is but this made me crack up! I am a 55 year old Nanny and a mother of 2 adults. I thought this was brilliant and it keeps adults in deep check. We must lead by example. We tend to be terribly impulsive. We can all learn from this article.?
